This Child Of Mine. - Poem by Graham Jones

So full of love this child of mine
Through memory to present time
Brings to me that which was lost
A pain as sharp as winters frost

Times forgotten put aside
That part of life I wish to hide
Buried deep within my mind
Resurface now the pain to find

I didn't ask or even wish
Emotions hidden such as this
Assault me now without relent
A life now lost and in repent

She is the mirror of my soul
Reflections of what once was whole
I see her past which once was mine
Yet seek a future for us to find.
