This Dance Poem by Allison Hankins

This Dance

Rating: 4.5

The wind blew through the trees like laughter come un-done,
You picked me up and brought me out into the blazing sun.
I felt the heat and began to dance to express that I felt free,
You followed me and kept the beat with your hands and then joined me.
We danced far into the night even though the wind chilled us so,
It soon became clear to me that what I saw in you touched my soul.
I peered into your deepening eyes and felt like I was in a trance,
I then felt that I'd fallen in love and I did not want to stop this dance.
This dance, this wonderful dance, this wonderful spirit lifting dance.....

I gave this a 9 because it was a focused rhyming piece that was easy to read and understand. I don't read many pieces that contain all these elements. GW62

Oh my goodness! ! You actually might me right when you said that it was your latest and greatest. It is really close to 'Love Songs'. Man alive, i wouldnt want the dance to end either.

A dance can definately do that...Grooving to the beat w/ some hot new find.....sometimes nothing is better! Great Job Allison, I like your style.
