This Is A Craft Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

This Is A Craft

It is never a mistake to be made.
When a learning from it one has done.
But refusing to deny,
That same mistake to repeatedly make.
Should no longer be denied.
By one who hides from a telling of a lie.
No!
That lie to tell and told to others.
Repeatedly sold although not true.
Will stay with them to deny in disbelief.
That someone like this,
Is good at deceiving too.
Proving to the one,
As they continue to make fools.
This is their profession.
To enjoy when done to do.
And...
This is not a mistake to make.
To recognize and later apologize.
With an asking to be forgiven.
No!
This is a craft one has.
To have perfected and learned well.
Used as a tool,
Is their mistake to purposely excuse.
Doing to choose what they do best.
At the expense of others,
Who seldom protest they have been tested!
