This Is A Story That A Friend Did For Me

There was a Knight who valiantly fought to protect the weak, the vulnerable and the hurt. With a singleness of purpose he strode into the battles fearless with faith hope & love in his heart.

His constant struggle to be a good man, to serve, love and be loved took its toll. His Shield began to let through the arrows of the enemy, his armour began to show the signs of war. Weariness crept into his bones, as he continued to keep his vows and values. Each time he fell under the onslaught of foes, his right hand gripped his sword the more tighter but the time to get up became longer and slower.

At a weak moment, for no rest would he take, a dearly beloved friend became a traitor and stabbed him mercilessly in his heart. For the one part he entrusted to them became the object of their attack. reeling from the treachery of these attacks for they were not just one, but repeatedly they came despite his cries for mercy... a mercy he gave to others eluded him as his heart was thrust through. The result of these attacks caused a change in him as his heart began to change, a hardness replaced the warmth he once knew, appalled at what he was becoming he withdrew into himself but was always there for all, whoever, whenever they needed him. They all took his aid but never ever repaid him, nor where concerned with his needs or pain.

The Knight could only do one thing, upon his knees he fell, Oh God he cried please help me was all he could cry. A hand reached down to him, dear God the Knight ask please take what's left of my heart, please keep it lest I lose all sense and touch of true love. Where he reached inside his breast and pulled out the remains of a true heart broken. Please God take what's left to keep and when my day is done, perhaps one last time I can feel true love. For the Knight feared he would lose sense of what and who he was before the fatal blows. God took the shattered remains of the knights heart and placed them gently into a small casket.. The Knights armour creaked and chafed as he arose, once more into battle he trod. A melancholy look upon his face as he could not feel the the blows that came, only the joy of death awaited him to give him relief from all his pain.

Then one day the Knight, craving for some kind spirit to give him just a moment of their time, to help ease his loneliness. A shinning light came into his dark world, instead of ridicule, nastiness or indifference, this manifestation of sweetness gave the Knight a moment of their time, speaking words of kindness and love the Knight found a rest for his weary soul. As days went by the Knight desired to spend more time with this vision of all he had desired in life, with each visit he grew stronger, his wounds began to heal. His armour began to regain its former strength and began to shine with a look he had not seen since he first put it on. Time stood still when with this bringer of healing, and he became more reluctant to leave their presence for such was their effect the Knight was falling in love.

The Knight knew he could not possibly love this person who had touched him so deep, without a heart. So with much fear and trembling, knowing the consequences of his actions. He trusted this person with his very life and knowing what he was about to do would place him at their mercy. A thing which he vowed he would never ever do again. The Knight approached the Throne Of Grace and again upon his knees, he called upon God this time not with desperation but with hope alive and a light in his eyes.

Dear God please he cried, can I have the pieces of heart again to feel just once more the love thats true that I believe this person can give to me, but also for me to love them back and give myself to them wholly and totally, for God they have shown what it is to be human again to have hope, kindness and a love thats pure... dear God please bless them in abundance and I pray let me be the one to take it to them.

Where upon God opened the casket he had put the remains of the Knights heart into.. a look of horror came across the Knights face as he looked in and saw it was empty. reeling back he was suddenly engulfed with a light that gave warmth he had not felt for a long while... turning he saw this new found love bathed in pure light of Blue and White. Smiling down at him upon his knees, the vision he beheld he would gladly prostrate himself at her feet, she held in her hand a familiar sight. For it was the Knights Heart, no longer bruised battered and scarred but whole and pulsating with life, reaching down she reached inside his breast and replaced it where it should, at anytime she could say no & destroyed him for good.

Her kiss and her tears, was balm to his sould, and his scars began to heal, the Knight sighed with all his being words would be futile. Taking him by the hand she raised him from his knees, softly with a love encompassing she said come... the Knight looked at God a smile upon his face, go in peace my children and love each other all your days....

It was at that moment the Knight understood and all his doubts and fears where answered, believing God had forsaken him and turned from his prayers but God had sent an Angel to him at his greatest need and in his moment of need.

So where this Knights tale ends is up to three, God, You & Him, treat him kind forgive his faults but a truer Knight you'll be hard to find.......
