This Is Dedicated To One That Can Never Again Read

Each droplet represents a tear
every time the rain comes you
will remember her, running into
the garden, snatching the clothes
from the line, returning red faced,
wet headed, smiling whilst cursing
the gods for their selfishness.
Each time the aroma of lemon scented
salmon finds you, you shall see her
wiping her sweet sweat from her
mothered brow and you shall smile.
The rain outside tickles the pane
I remember cold pizza sticky limbs
and her twisted frown when our window
caved in from the confusion of a drunken
mans pain. The sun slowly slumbers
forth, shredding the clouds, and all
I think of is the way she grated cheese
and the smile she gave to weary mothers
in parks. I follow her at night so carefull
not to tread upon her lightfooted footprints.
Cars carry worlds thought and feelings
curtains invite my lonely heart......
She smiles in my sleep as our dog
whimpers outside, twitching in her sleep
I am only human I crave the love of word.
