This Is It Poem by C. Cory Spencer

This Is It

Rating: 5.0

This is it, not then, not later, now!

Do not worry the past like a bone,

Do not scheme for unseen futures.

Ride now like you stole it! Pursued!

Live life as the tick of the clock

not the tock. Tick - tick, this is it!

Vain are the musings of yesterday's sorrow,

while planning for tomorrow, ignoring now.

I'll live now and outlive you all, tick, tick...

Time management? Damn, time management!

I'll live time mismanagement, raw and now!

The mantra of life is now, right now, immediately!

Will time ride up on us, wet with sweat? Panting?

Or will it be dry as the grave, a life lived with dread?

We live not in a past shoulda, or a future could be, but Now!

past, present and future are all one time lived as now.
