This Is Killing Me Too - Poem by Kay Conlon

I was in pink, you were in blue
Our eyes locked together, our love was true
You broke my heart, you stroked my hair
You showed in every way you care
But right now we cannot be
It breaks, it shatters, it destroys me
You looked me in the eyes, saw my heart break in two
Written in your eyes was
'This is killing me too'
One day I hope you have a change of 'heart'
Otherwise, I know,
I shall fall apart.

‘This is killing me too’
