Rating: 5.0

On this Memorial Day
I will again be thankful as I pray,
For all the soldiers I say
Who gave their life at home and far away.

As we go to celebrate at the beach
We must be thankful our leaderspreach,
For our freedom of life and speech
And for our religion that we teach.

Our countrymen proudly did serve
With pride and honor and nerve,
More than a thank you they all deserve
Without thought or reserve.

Those brave soldiers gave us their being
Not by cowardliness or by fleeing,
God was always there seeing
When they were doing the freeing.

When our nation came calling
For their sacrifice they weren't bawling,
For service they weren't crawling
I always pray for the fallen.
