This Nearly Was Mine Poem by Lora Colon

This Nearly Was Mine

Reality in a world of illusions,
Love still tender on the vine,
Light replacing the darkness,
This nearly was mine

Hope once dead, resurrected,
Despair, now forced to resign;
A glimpse of heaven's promise,
This nearly was mine

Eyes revealing warmth and passion,
A heart offering love divine,
Kisses that hinted at paradise,
This nearly was mine

O Lord, give me back that hour
I first glimpsed your grand design;
Don't hasten to chastise my failures,
But grant me what nearly was mine!

This makes me think of what happened to me in the past. Great poem

Very moving. Reminds me of a past relationship where toward the end, everything fell through. Such is life!
