This road keeps winding and dividing.
Boomeranging to even up the score
This road keeps winding and dividing
Like trees with branches torn from above apart
Like birds' feathers that haven't quite alighted their chains
That haven't yet learnt to fly their bars in good time
And have fallen off their perch rebuffed out of love.
This road keeps winding and dividing.
Boomeranging to even up the score
Walking through jail walls, walls without a finite heart
Entered like a tomb, walked like a forest in the night
Without a single beginning or end
A maze that ends in a fortress of the living dead.
Let me find some Grace, leave this maze.
This road keeps winding and dividing.
Boomeranging to even up the score
And I just don't get it anymore
How a love was saved seconds from defeat
And later got wed.
And rid themselves of their manacles.
And flew like a bird without any theory.
How they rose above the flames
The flames that wanted to take their lives back.
