This Whiskey Poem by Francis Duggan

This Whiskey

This whiskey it is magical stuff
It makes the gentle wild and rough
And it makes the timid and the quiet
Aggressive and in mood for fight.

'Tis said that whiskey can kill pain
But it also can affect the brain
Too much of it for one is bad
It has driven men and women mad.

This whiskey the sagging spirits raise
And songs have have been sung in it's praise
And though to some it gives an early grave
The coward he drinks it and grows brave.

It keeps getting better as it grows old
This whiskey the colour of gold
It makes the song shy with joy sing
This whiskey is a marvellous thing.
