This World Is Like This Poem by Somanathan Iyer

This World Is Like This

Many a faces but not any god
Lethal lash outs but not any weapon
Generous by words truthful to none
Tongue is always twisting the facts
Heaps of praises on the face
Stinking comments at the back
Ways these are to cite a few
Modern humans prefer to live

Words are sweet filled with deceit
Keeping others in constant puzzle
Money is the honey moneyed are the masters
The don'ts always treated as fraudsters
Greed is colored as ambition
Trust is rested under crooked lust
Left for the winds morals and values
Bonds and attachments
Buried under detachments

Power and position luring the minds
Brazen shortcuts in jumping the fence
Modest and content facing the contempt
Failing to fulfill even the likes of closest
Opportunism is the driving force
Arrogance is the thriving farce
Doctorates awarded not for research
Takers own them without any soul search
Tame and timid unfit to live as
Vice and virtue never go together!
