This World Of Vanity Poem by Bakare Oluwagbenga Michael

This World Of Vanity

This world of vanity desires me ALOT;
But I wish to desire it NOT.
What treasure possesses this world for me to DESIRE;
When I know I will someday RETIRE.
Even with all the pleasures of this WORLD;
Saints and Moralists still find it ODD.
Riches pleasures of it are up for CLAIM;
Yet within it Echoes cries from FLAME.
I wish I could enjoy them all as they COME;
Yet I remain ever conscious of the OUTCOME.
This world of vanity calls for me to RESPOND;
But NO, I'll rather heed to the call from BEYOND.
For this world will only end in VANITY;
And my goal is to achieve ETERNITY...
