This World Of Voyeurs Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

This World Of Voyeurs

Rating: 5.0

Far few that act, spectators too many,
But a few play, many watching to rant,
Rudderless on a ship, oar-less at sea,
Spending time idly, alien joy on rent;
Watching those that endeavour, on high gear—
Those that live life full, all else avoiding,
Court jesters trying royalty to cheer,
How can life spent on couch joys ever bring?

Like hypnotized hyped just to watch the scene,
Of shrunken stature be this spectator—
A spectral shadow staring at square screen,
Life begging thrills from a joy-creator!
In thankless hope still this poem I pen,
A voice in wilderness and one in ten!

A nation is known for its actors (no, not those on stage) . Fine, but what when spectators far outweigh those that act? ___________________________________________________

while reading you now, thought of Shakespear's " All the world is a stage". thank you very much for your fine reflection that comes out of all your experiences in life. tony (Report) Reply

Yes, we are on stage, but more acted upon than actors, mere dancing dolls tied to a thread. But I am here amazed the way we love to be spectators to a few that play. Thank you Dr Tony.
