Those were the days
When we used to be sad
Eating puffed rice for survival
We slept in bug infested bed
Those were the days
We used to famish in hunger
We cooked borrowed rice and
To our own people we were strangers
Those were the days
Like wires our bodies looked
To the pole of bad luck it seemed
Our fate lines have been hooked
Those were the days
We were supposed to die
But we survived the hunger game
And giving this life another try
