I awake to a new day, clear and bright
but soon my mind is awash with her memories
I regain my footing long enough to watch
myself get swept away in a torrent of
thoughts of her
she is a feeling to me, more than desire
she is an aching, a longing, a need
my mind is assailed by her beauty, her tenderness, her love
like waves on a beach
she comes and carries me away a little at a time
her love is relentless and I am overcome
pulled by her tide to drown in the dark brown pools of her eyes
wishing never to emerge
