Three Girls Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Three Girls

Three girls

Three girls; teenagers
Saskatchewan's ‘First Nations'
The so called Indians,
Committed suicide.

Congrats to white-man
Don't bother, drop gun
I know your slogan:
"Kill the Red while a Child."

But sadly
This is not limited
To here, nor to time.

Said Hussein of Iran
Western side, Kurdistan:
"Papers wrote of the same;
Suicide among young."

None of these are the end
Attawapiskat
Has exposed this big shame.

I found this phenomenon
Among those who take time
To question: "What is life? "

In the past men, women
The learned, middle aged
Took their lives when ashamed
Of seeing the people in burden.

It was not part of life
Of the young, children
Now it is…

What has changed?
Shallowness of the life?
Fast growth of the mind?
