Three Lilies

three lilies on the same stalk swayed

Christ have mercy, the dark away

must roll must roll old sorrows

from thy grave

three lilies swayed

three roses trellised the stars in May

in May the soul was called away

for love of the Trinity, Easter day

Christ have mercy, the dark away

must carry must carry old tears

three violets in the sky today

appeared to dye the skies of blue

and iris also,

and I am writing this poem to You

Trinity old and Trinity new

Christ have mercy,

my poems renew.

into the shining day.
