Through The Microscope Poem by Margaret O Driscoll

On a nature hunt in the garden
Excitedly they dig around
They search under sow thistles
Digging deep in the soft ground

Under their mini microscope
they place a little worm
Peering through the lens
they see a big one squirm!

Next under the microscope
they place a small snail shell
They gasp in amazement -
ask me to look as well

A scarlet pimpernel flower
forty times magnified
Bright orange petals
glow on the glass slide

Little ones peer closely
at each new item on a slide
Wonder in amazement
at nature magnified
