Tick Tock Watch The Clock Poem by shannon wright

Tick Tock Watch The Clock

Rating: 5.0

the future has become the present
the red circled day has arrived
all those months of waiting
tick tock watch the clock
I tried to hold on the best I could
but impatience pried my fingers off the prize
I lost sight of the passing time
and drowned in a sea of lost hours
I looked to you for understanding
but you were too busy studying your watch
to see that I was choking on time.
today is when the future begins
just not for us.
because time is lost to me forever.
I prayed away a fleeting past
and gave away the passing future.
