In each marriage more than a week old,
Fair grounds good-enough for divorce hold.
The trick just is to find
Grounds to stay put, nigh blind,
A chirping birdie to me so told.

" nigh" : near; almost - - - - I nigh HATE this poem & I sigh. Wait! I LOVE it. [ often i do lie ] - - - - After three divorces and into my last? marriage, i totally agree with lines 3 & 4. But it ain't always possible (not great grounds, at least) . ; ( : ( you handle the wording magnificently! and i like your Poet's Notes. Who IS Robert Anderson?
I've no such experience, but I still appreciate what you say. About the third and fourth lines... Marriages may be made in heaven, but that does not mean it does a perfect job... and we must try, make them perfect with a lot of give and take, adjustments, not compromises... Robert Anderson... Google it yaar, and see, I don't know, nor it matters to me, but what he said did matter to me, and hence this limerick. Great interacting with you dear Bri.
