Time Poem by Barry Middleton

Time

Rating: 5.0

Time is the cruelest element,
passing slowest in misery
and swiftest in joy.

Time,
god's silent toy,
takes a little
of what is valued most
and
takes a little more,
un-noticed
as we presume to outwit death.

Time gets even with men
who pay it little heed.

Taken for granted
and hating life
it knifes out
its piece of flesh.

Swift knife in pain,
slow in healing
and yet
so greedily appealing.

This is powerful. You have put it really well. That's how i feel about time too but couldn't put it into words. You have done it so well. I'm loving it. Great expression. A big 10

Yes I feel it even more now as I grow older. Time is cruel. Thanks for the comment as always.
