Time Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Time

Rating: 1.3

My clock dost chime on the hour,
Sometimes on the half and quarters too,
To show the time that has passed me by,
As I do write this poem for you.

Is it fair my time has been marked?
Chimes record all the time that has flown,
As I spend my time each day,
Sometimes in company, often alone.

Has my time in life been wasted?
Or spent wisely writing poems?
Is there more, yet to be done,
In the hours and days to come?

Each period in our lives
Is marked by the chiming of the hours,
Added up ~ repeatedly,
To create our years spent on Earth.

As we live our Mortal Lives,
Second by Second, Hour by Hour,
Onwards do the Days pass,
Until finally ~ we breathe ~ our last.
