Time And The Knitting Needles Poem by chris schwartz

Time And The Knitting Needles

Rating: 5.0

Cast my thoughts to the wind!
May I have one more day
To try to unwind,
In the world
This magnificent world
That keeps spinning
Inside my head.
Quiet the noise!
So that I hear nothing
But the knitting needles
Weaving beautiful patterns
Into the quilt
Which is called
"My life."
Let me close my eyes
Paint the picture
Of my dreams
Swept under the quiet
Comfortable carpet
For another.
I thirst for the tree,
The branches of you and me
Intertwining,
With each other.
Deaden the sounds
Of the fast-moving trains
Quiet the planes
On Life's runways.
Make it go away.
All I want in life
Is you.
