Time Heals They Say. Things Will Get Better Poem by Sheena Blackhall

Time Heals They Say. Things Will Get Better

Time heals, they say. Things will get better
Death is a universal blow
At first, a surge of card, flower, letter

The chain of grief trails a long fetter
In secret, mourning brings me low
Time heals, they say. Things will get better

Now I am a forever debtor
I can't repay the love I owe
Time heals, they say. Things will get better

You could have been a high go-getter
Cruel fate decreed it was not so
Time heals, they say. Things will get better

Childhood should build, not be a wrecker
Too late I've learned the truth. I know
Time doesn't heal. Things don't get better

Time heals, they say. Things will get better
Death is a universal blow
At first, a surge of card, flower, letter

The chain of grief trails a long fetter
In secret, mourning brings me low
Time heals, they say. Things will get better

Now I am a forever debtor
I can't repay the love I owe
Time heals, they say. Things will get better

You could have been a high go-getter
Cruel fate decreed it was not so
Time heals, they say. Things will get better

Childhood should build, not be a wrecker
Too late I've learned the truth. I know
Time doesn't heal. Things don't get better
