Time In The Abyss Poem by Sven Rhoads

Time In The Abyss

I dont know how long I've been lost inside
I only know that this is where the darkness resides
At some point in life it all just went wrong
Days and years a blur, it has been just too long
Feels like I've been falling for an eternity
Like standing in quicksand that wont set me free
There is a light thats just too far beyond my reach
Is it moon or sun, do you hear the words I speak
I've been climbing for ten thousand years
Slipping on mistakes and those wasted tears
The blood and sweat are all that tell me I'm alive
I guess thats why this feels like endless suicide
I scream out until my lungs collapse
My positivity keeps falling into relapse
This will inside fights until only ash is shown
Forever struggling towards the vast unknown
The obsidian black doesnt disappear
As the burning light never draws so near
When mind is ridden with the monsters of within
The beating just continues in a fight I must win
I'm seeing numbers tripled across my eyes
Their meaning for existence I cant find out why
My body aches while my skin is on fire
Forever fighting on when this man is so tired
One more pill to put the mind to sleep
But dreams are trampled under demon feet
Into a battle for the sake of my mind
Until a new day comes for the daily grind
Smile so they keep quiet all the questions
When I am broken under silent transgressions
So dont look too deep into these tired blue eyes
Or else you'll see the war thats going on inside
