Time Stood Still Poem by April Jonees

Time Stood Still

My heart it beat so fast,
As I approached your face,
Its beat got faster and faster,
As if it were in a race.

My breath it slowly quickened,
Making me uneasy,
I've never been like this before,
What on earth is wrong with me?

Yet you didn't seem to notice,
I felt you didn't care,
As our eyes collided for the first time,
It was as if I wasn't there.

But since that day I realized,
I was too blind to see,
You saw me along along,
For time stopped for you and me.
