Red Snow Poem by April Jonees

Red Snow

Your voice echos in the distance,
Your feet crunch into the snow,
I turn around to look,
But I didn't see you though.

Then suddenly without warning,
My eyes fell into embrace,
With your eyes as they met mine,
And we came face to face.

But what should happen? But memories,
Of dark red blood upon the floor,
Your teeth sink into skin,
How could you be wanting more?

I screamed and yelled,
I tried to fight,
I did all I could,
Against your might.

My blood slipped slowly,
Down my neck,
You left me to die,
An emotional wreck.

But leaving my memories,
How come I never died?
My only question now is...
Why?

My lips curl into a smile,
You should have left me dead,
Your scream pierced the nothingness,
As the snow turned red.
