I do believe Homer was quite intentional in his portrayal of Odysseus overcoming the most fell of adversaries only to undone time and time again by the wiles of women. I find the application immensely and frequently useful.
A fine and enjoyable piece, Tom, but truly leaves us longing for a longer tale.
