Tired Of Forgiving Poem by Randy McClave

Tired Of Forgiving

I wonder what sin are we going to commit today
And for who are we going to pray,
While we tell others that we are righteous and holy
But, unto those words we tread upon them slowly.
We judge and we hate because of rumors and lies
While standing underneath Gods all-knowing eyes,
And when the Bible tells us not to ever do it
We then have a fit.
We post lies and rumors that we know will cause hate
While uncaringly damning someone else's fate,
We want to believe in lies that's told by someone without a clue
And we want others to believe it, even though we know that it's not true.
We ask our Lord God to please, please forgive them and us
As we continue to lie and swear and judge and cuss,
And here is one true fact
Sometimes God doesn't forgive and let it go at that.
Sometimes we will point at strangers and tell them they sin
While our friends and family will applaud us for a win,
As we sin, which of course our sins are not as bad as theirs
So, we say them and not us always need the prayers.
We pray for those who stole the other night
While we refused to help the poor and needy in the light,
We helped those who are our true brothers
While we accused those who are different than others.
We pray that others don't ever hold a grudge
While we go out and want to accuse and then judge,
Many just want or need a slap on their back
As though they have fended off a very vicious attack.
Sometimes many will just put on a new suit and tie
So, God will see how good they look from the sky,
And as long as we live, we still sin while we are living
I wonder, if God ever gets a little tired of forgiving.
