To Be Young Again Poem by Leslie Alexis

To Be Young Again

You know when was young, like six or eight
Pretty girls to me were not for a date.
The world to me was a big happy place,
And the smile the same, on every face.
Most beautiful I found the pouring rain,
And of the shining sunshine, I thought same.
The worms were God’s creatures, just like the cat,
- And clowns were ugly in every hat.
When I was young I wished to be older
My mom said, ‘wish not this, ’ the wise told-her.
Now aged, I wished to be young like then
Unable - I relive youth through my pen.
