To Bed I Am Going Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

To Bed I Am Going

Where is my Muse?
Where is my Poem?
Where are the words tonight?
Why do they not come to my Mind
To compose a new poem that’s right?

I seek for new thoughts,
I seek for the rhymes,
I seek for them here and there,
But why at this time are they hiding from me?
As around my room I do stare.

I sit in my chair,
My pad on my knee,
My pen poised and raring to go,
Gently they come ~ the words for this poem,
As my pen writes them down real slow.

My ramblings in verse appear on this sheet,
As the words form again in a poem,
Hurriedly now I come to the end
Of this verse and to bed I am going.
