To Catch The Wind Poem by Chris Embrick

To Catch The Wind

I checked the tide charts for the bay
For the best time to sail away
Not knowing now the journey's end
I'll set my sails to catch the wind

No need for compass or the sun
No turning back once I've begun
I'll ride the currents nature sends
And set my sails to catch the wind

With assurance give my soul the helm
To guide my heart to gentle realms
Until the ocean's calm within
I'll set my sails to catch the wind

My soul will lead me to the light
And guide me in the thoughts I write
Until I know the journey's end
I'll set my sails to catch the wind.
