To Dance Poem by Randy McClave

To Dance

I will not dance at your wedding
Or at a birthday where we might be heading,
I will not ever give you a dance
No matter how you might dress, or prance.
I will not dance with you at any party
No matter how drunk or high or hearty,
Forgiveness from you I will not ever choose
I will not ever put on those dancing shoes.
I will not dance with you if I win the lottery
Or if I am escaping over broken pottery,
With you I will not move, waltz, boogie or sway
I will not dance! No matter what you do or even pay.
I will not dance with you in any contest
Or at my church where I feel happy and blessed,
But, there is one place and time to dance I will
I will happily dance at your burial.
