To Death Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

To Death

It is not that no victory is mine
After fighting all for you with my spine
You looked at first a lady so lovely
Sent to tap my every step wisely
And I believed you as if my own
Loving and caring so much like a concubine
Ever young and ever beautiful
I didn't know when and how I fell
In love with you once in a lifetime
And I thought it might be of prime
Your grace, personality and dexterity
All but charmed me to propose you matrimony
And we were solemnised as one
As if strange hand of fate brought us into union
And you were looking so captivating then
Like as intoxicating as wine
"I would die for beauty I wished"
And I got drowned and drowned and drowned
Till your sweet assault
And that was it, a decoration at last
