To Dream Poem by Howie Kolson

To Dream

Tumbling, turning, emotions churning,
Peeling, sounding, heart left pounding,
Spinning, shaking, core still quaking,
Sweating, panting, mind still ranting...

The room is still dark, this cell, this bed,
in which I'm trapped with you in my head,
Awoken so boldly to such a bleak start
lying here coldly with you on my heart.

Elation, sadness, a consuming madness,
Swinging, swaying, never staying,
giving, taking, and always breaking,
loving, losing, but never choosing...

The sheets still soaked, cold, unfurled,
A rapture in dream, a pefect world,
I shut my eyes, heart pounds like a drum,
again to sleep, but sleep won't come.

Touching, kissing, left always missing,
lonely, broken, sadly awoken,
weary, crying, slowly dying,
longing, burning, heart left yearning...

Missing you I'm left lost and alone,
sadness deepens, chills to the bone,
my heart, your book, an open tome,
my spirit longing to just go home.

A perfectly well written expression of a half in and out of a dream experience of wanting and loneliness. One feels though that if one can need another or an other like that love is not far away.We sometimes panic when the film stops only to find that the pause button has been accidently pressed! 10.
