To Eve Poem by Marilyn Jean

To Eve

A letter I choose not to write
On what neither of us can bear
Or maybe If I am wrong, just say
On the love I wish you to have
Even, when I know already you do
But, know if you ever run out
Need a hug or a big kiss or two
I hold tight some for you here
Warm and tender inside my heart
For you and just you, kindest Eve
Because roses would not pleased
Nor smiles, tears nor paintings
But this letter not handed today
A gift not offered but cherished
Like my love neither wild nor mad
Anymore, but love gently alive here
