This isolation from friendship ties
That I chose to carry on
Spreads its mantle of quietness
And soothing calm upon my nerves
As you too, might consider.
For prevalence of incidents that tried
And somehow, strained our cordial ties
To breaking point,
Have rendered words between us
Meaningless pretense.
It's for you and your freedom
Of mind and heart, now set free
From the worthless vagaries
That cling again and again
Like moss, upon an otherwise
Placid bond.
Suffice to say, we can speak still
Though a confining wall
Comes between us each time,
Because, my friend -
I am not good at hypocrisy.
