To Grant Me With You Life (English Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

To Grant Me With You Life (English Sonnet)

(for Annelize)

Your lips I have know as soft scented red
while you laid next to me right through the night,
their words do remain in my heart and head
while together we talked to the first light

Your words and acts tell of your inner soul,
the true person that in essence is you,
tell about every hope, your faith and each goal,
all the things to which you do remain true.

now years later you are in every dream
where you do now good and great things impart:
life is suddenly as lovely as it seem
while you do bring great joy to my heart

and I pray to God with His great power,
grant me with you life and not just an hour.
