To Hear The World Cry Poem by Weldon Davis

To Hear The World Cry

It was a sunny day
No clouds in the sky
In the distance I heard
The world cry

When will they ever
Treat me as they should?

Instead of polluting my water
Stripping my woods

Weighting my surface down
Brick by brick

Thinning my O-Zone now
I'm starting to get sick

I'm so sorry I can't block
UV's like I used to

If I could I would
I can no longer help you

Clouds rolled in
Acid rain dropped
And I
Felt a tear drop
As I heard the world cry
