To My Mother Poem by Holly Jamestone

To My Mother

Warm hands
Encouraging smiles
Generous letters
Across the miles

Sleepless nights
Patience strong
Helping children
Get along

Understanding
Mounds of hope
Always there
To help me cope

Kindness, love
That never ends
One who tops
My list of friends

Hours and hours
Of strength unending
Knack for healing
And for mending

Calming hugs
When needed most
One about whom
I can boast

My mom, my friend
My confidante
And knowing as I do
That ever since I've been alive
I've found these things in you

(undated - written
during childhood)
