To Pray (Free Verse Sonnet)
a person does not need icons
of saints, prophets and apostles,
or burning candles or figures
or even a big old cathedral
to go to the Lord God in prayer.
In any place and in any situation
the omnipotent Lord God
and His mighty angels
are right here where we are.
He does notice everything,
even the intentions
that we secretly
do hide or carry in the heart
and constantly is providing for our good.
