To The Geniuses Who Never Saw The Light Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

To The Geniuses Who Never Saw The Light

I want to take this moment
To salute all the geniuses
Especially those who died without knowing
Just because they were poor
And have never interacted with calculus or geometry
Had no idea of dark matter and dark energy
Could not spell their names let alone rocket science
They were astrologists and mathematicians at heart
But because of the poverty and inequality
They died with their dreams
No one will ever know their worth
Or the intricate mathematical equations on their path
Or even the level of wisdom in their hearts
This is a call to all of us
To avail resources to everyone
Regardless of race, religion or colour
It's imperative for mankind's sake
To develop each and every child
Equip them with the best knowledge
And let them find their light
To all those who are alive today
I salute you
For the immense power
That lay hidden in your hearts
