To Walk Before Dawn Poem by Robert Siney

To Walk Before Dawn

Rating: 5.0

This current state is fleeting
Pain is just a shadow I cast
And my every breath is hollow
From the first one to the last
Suddenly is frightening
In this light I am disarmed
The truth now stands before me
The lies have lost their charm

A double take is needed
Things aren’t what they seem
My eyes are wide and open
As I wander through this dream
Blindly I must stumble
On through this barren land
Then I hear a tender whisper
As courage holds out its hand

I see the dawn but don’t believe
There is hope within its light
My trust has been disbanded
All I have now is this night

I love the line, 'Pain is just a shadow I cast', Very original. It would seem that you are singing your own version of the blues very effectively. I like your music.Wishing you well. Warm regards, Sandra
