Today, At Church Poem by Randy McClave

Today, At Church

Rating: 5.0

I finally ended my soulful search
I found myself a church,
From my face I assuredly removed my smirch
Today, at the Church.

Rob preaches his sermon
Renee speaks about cats and vermin,
Going to Japan Hannah is still yearnin'
Today, at the Church.

Amber is downstairs teaching classes
I am joyfully listening with the masses,
Susanna and Sidney are drawing with the Lasses
Today, at the Church.

Peggy is still in the kitchen
She and the other women always want to pitch in,
They feed the hungry as we are taught against sin
Today, at the Church.

The Deacons are all sitting up front
The scriptures they enjoy to read after the hunt,
Against the devil they are ready to confront
Today, at the Church.

The service is ended with a prayer
Someday, I'll know everyone that is sitting there,
But, until then I will smile as at the others I stare
Today, at the Church.
