Tomorrow Today Poem by Affiah Odhiambo

Tomorrow Today

Rating: 5.0

As I write you these lines,
the melody of your laugh chines
Slicing my tasked heart
Seeking to make clear my part
as to why you and I can't be
You've tenderly told me
I'm taking too much time;
that love unexplored today
is love lost tomorrow.

Do understand when I hesitate
I mean not to cause you any harm
so do not be alarmed.
See, I take my time to meditate
on the best state for situations like;
Relations, could we be better together today?

Yes I do confess the rousing in my spine
as you smoothly speak to me,
the saucy texture of your voice
gently massages my ears
my nose won't stop the tingles
at the manly sight of you.
Oh…and when I reminisce
on the possibilities of our rendezvous
as we'd day to day render it
Surely I must agree,
we would be better together today.

This stirring link between you and I
truly asserts plenty
except it's empty of Love defined.
Yes, with it we could be better together
but only for today
as we are best apart tomorrow.
Let's live tomorrow today tamed and sane
with a friendly love that esteems you and I
and also, your wife.
