Too Full For Dessert Poem by soren Barrett

Too Full For Dessert

Sweet smoke drifting out open windows over heads of oblivious diners
Too loud the talk in a noisy cafe not able to hear whispers of future diviners
I've eaten the best food but now only the taste of memory remains
Chewed the softest meals of love, where now sits the shadow of pains
Discarded waste on a plate in front of me
Too full to hold another bite of felicity
