Took The Shot Poem by Randy McClave

Took The Shot

Nothing for my son I wouldn't do
Everyday to him I say I love you,
Since the day that he was born
I would protect him without fear or scorn.
I wear my seatbelts because of him
And I wear headgear when I box in the gym,
I wear a helmet when I ride my bike
And I wear boots and I have a first aid kit when I hike.
My son is always protected
His health and safety is never neglected,
And when he sees and feels safety
I want him to always to look up and smile at me.
For him I would undoubtedly give a transfusion
My love for him they'll be no confusion,
Until the very end
My son, I will always protect and defend.
When he was sick I gave him medicine and a pill
I took the flu vaccine so he wouldn't get affected or ill,
For my son there is nothing I wouldn't do or say
His safety and health, I think about everyday.
I would assuredly take a bullet for my son
I would take it from any rifle or gun,
For his life I have surely fought
So, for him I took a COVID-19 shot.
