Torment Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Torment

I'm grateful
For the way you opened up to me
The shame and inhibitions collected
In the cool bulbs of your tears
The pleats on your foreheads stand
The test of times when you cut the vein
To prove the strength of your love
I stood mute at the valour and dignity
I rolled up my shirt sleeves to show
I was there and feigned stone-hearted
Swelling the chest and pulling lips to a side
The clouds have left the sky barren
The ponds dumped the lotus into mud
The fronds shook the nest down to the ground
Left in the cauldron of indignity you and me
Nourish the womb feeding culms in the darkness.
