Torn Between Two Lovers Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Torn Between Two Lovers

The room is quiet,
yet the air hums with tension.
Two faces linger in my mind-
one, a memory of calm waters,
the other, a storm I cannot resist.

Hands reach for opposite shores,
pulled by times I cannot name.
One offers a sactuary,
a safe harbor from the world's chaos.
The other is a wildfire,
consuming,
yet somehow illuminating the darkest corners of my soul.

Every glance holds weight,
every word feels like a wound or a promise.
How do you measure love
when the scales break beneath its burden?

To choose one is to lose the other,
a thread cut in the fabric of my life.
And so I linger,
caught in the quiet agony of being whole,
yet divided.
